The faults of their partner they desire to cover.
Two sharers committed and who wish to delight,
Avoiding the urge to always be right.
Two that are loyal in word and in deed;
Knowing when to speak and when to concede.
Two always trying the good to highlight,
Who by talking calmly, avoid verbal fights.
Two endeavouring to strengthen and build;
And never pull down by being self-willed.
Two showing honour when things don't go right,
By not talking to others out of sheer spite.
Two forgivers who don't rake up the past,
Not seeking a shadow on their marriage to cast.
Two who a dignified bearing maintain,
Refusing at all times their partner to shame.
Two carers that yearn to give and not take,
And loving expressions do not forsake.
Two listeners tuned in to the other ones feelings,
While tender care by no means concealing.
Two pouring out love - the great binding force,
Thus sticking together on life's onward course.
Two, who together, Jehovah do serve,
And by applying his word their marriage preserve.
